Roy Rogers
Roy Rogers is an amazing story and an attractive quickservice opportunity, especially for experienced multi-unit fast food or restaurant operators. It was founded in 1968 by Marriott and was popular for its Big Three menu items: roast beef sandwiches, bone-in fried chicken and distinctive hamburgers. A succession of corporate owners did all they could to kill off the chain, including rebranding already successful units, cutting quality and selling off units to competitors. One franchise group, the Plamondon Cos., stayed true to the original concept and quality. In 2002, the franchisee group, led by Jim and Peter Plamondon, purchased the trademark and franchise rights to Roy Rogers, and embarked on a new franchising initiative based on the company’s original vision. The result is the only nationally known quickservice franchise that has lots of prime territories available for expansion. http://www.royrogersrestaurants.com
